Google reviews represent a great place to start, most businesses have them and you are able to get a feeling for how others have found purchasing from this dealership. Google reviews are easy to find! Just make sure you have a look at a broad range of reviews and particularly pay attention to the most recent ones. 

How long they have been in business 

Another very basic test is Understanding how long a dealership has been around for... this will give you a good Idea as to how they do business. Quite often the less reputable car dealerships will keep changing their name or company details to avoid being followed or prosecuted by previous unhappy customers... It is rare that you will find long serving - established dealerships having bad customer service, so take this into consideration when evaluating a dealer. 
 

Personal recommendation 

At the end of the day... you just can’t beat a personal recommendation; ask your friends and family where they have purchased their cars from and who has looked after them in the past.
